Insurance and Tax Deferred Benefits
Health Insurance The Town of Brookline is transitioning all health insurance coverage to the Group Insurance Commission effective July 1, 2010.
Life Insurance - The Town offers an optional $5,000 term life insurance policy. The Town contributes 75% of the premium. Some employees may purchase an additional $2,500 of coverage.
Dental Insurance - The Town provides two dental insurance policies for employees. Employees pay 100% of the premium, getting the lowered cost of a group rate.
Flexible Spending Account Plan – A Flexible Spending Account Plan can help pay for medical and/or dependent care expenses by letting you pay for these expenses with pre-tax dollars.
Employee Assistance Program – Town employees, their spouses, and dependent children are eligible for a confidential counseling and referral service. The EAP focuses on the employee's whole life, advice and referral is available for a variety of issues, including legal, budgetary and new baby transitions.
Premium Conversion Plan – under this plan, an employee’s health/life insurance premiums are deducted on a pre-tax basis.
