Drug Disposal Information

A prescription drug disposal box is located in the lobby of the Brookline Public Safety Building, located at 350 Washington St.

Prescription drug abuse is one of the most prevalent forms of drug abuse in the country, and extra medications lying around on shelves can prove an unneeded temptation.

Prescription medication, over-the-counter medications, vitamins, samples, pet medication, ointments, lotion, and liquid medications in glass or leak-proof containers can be dropped off 24-hours a day, no questions asked. Simply bring the medications into the station and put them into the box- That’s it, you’re done!

Please note: Needles, thermometers, bloody or infectious waste, medication from businesses or clinics, hydrogen peroxide, aerosol cans and inhalers cannot be disposed of in this manner. For questions, please contact Detective Hutnick at (617) 730-2254.
