The DPW - Transportation Division works with the Transportation Board to develop and implement all transportation policies, plans and regulations in the Town. Working with the DPW - Engineering Division, DPW - Highway Division, Planning Department, Police Department and Transportation Board, the DPW - Transportation staff provides technical support and administrative services in the following areas:

• development of neighborhood safety improvement policies and plans
• conduct small-scale traffic and parking studies
• development of intersection and traffic signal improvement projects
• use and placement of traffic control devices
• review of transportation access and construction management plans for new developments
• licensing and oversight of taxi-cab, valet, and livery industries
• administration of residential, guest overnight and commercial area employee parking programs
• development of commercial area parking policies and plans
• review of parking controls and regulations

As the Town continues to focus on building a strong mulit-modal transportation network that encourages cycling and public transportation as reasonable alternatives to personal vehicle use we strongly encourage all bicyclists and motorists to check out the new initiative "Same Roads.
