Site History

The original design of the John G. Wright estate was by Olmsted, Olmsted and Eliot and contained a formal rose garden with a turnstile, a cow paddock, a hen house and vegetable gardens as well as a potting shed.The wall around #648 is part of the one which surrounded the entire estate was built in 1908 along with the house at #648. In 1908, there was also a plan for a pond near the Baldwin School area. Chapman & Frazer designed a greenhouse in 1916.
