This Department handles many land use and planning issues for the
Town, including Planning Board review of developments; affordable
housing; historic preservation and the Town's Community Development Block Grant program. The Planning & Community Development Department also includes the Economic Development division.

Urban Land Institute Technical Assistance Panel on Cleveland Circle
In October 2009, a volunteer Technical Assistance Panel representing the Urban Land Institute’s Boston District Council gathered at the request of the MBTA to study the development potential of the MBTA property at Reservoir Station and the adjacent MBTA maintenance facility, located mostly in the Town of Brookline and partially in the City of Boston.
