Who: Open to the public.
Why: The Asian longhorned beetle was recently discovered in Boston, close to the Brookline border, and is an invasive insect that poses a significant threat to many hardwood tree species. Learn more about this beetle, its current status, and what you can do to help. For more information, go to the Town's website, www.brooklinema.gov and click on Asian Longhorned Beetle Alert under "Latest News".
We have scheduled a series of meetings to accomodate as many people as possible. All are welcome to attend one of the sessions.
To report potential Asian longhorned beetle (ALB) sightings or suspicious tree damage, or to obtain up to date information on the ALB, please call the Massachusetts Asian Longhorned Beetle hotline at 866-702-9938.

7:15 Gateway East / Village Improvement Project: Discuss and vote on recommendations for Rte 60, 65 and 66 bus stop locations, shelters/benches, signage and other features to be included in the Town's proposal for rebuilding this set of intersections. The committee's recommendations will go to the Transportation Board for approval and thence to the Planning Department for inclusion in the 25% design to be presented at a public hearing in September.
8:30 MBTA C and D trolley issues: Discuss and finalize a list of issues to be presented to the MBTA to form the basis for discussion at a future meeting of this committee.
