Planned Solar Panel Installation at four municipal roofs

On August 11th, 2020, the Select Board voted to sign a Letter of Intent with Solect Energy regarding Power Purchase Agreements for the Ridley School, the roof of the Science at the Brookline High School, the Kirrane Aquatic Center, and the Runkle School. The Select Board plans to hold a public hearing on Tuesday, September 8th, likely around 7 pm. If the date changes for this public hearing to a later date, we will update this webpage. Plans and reference documents that will be of interest for this public hearing include:

Solar photovoltaic panels owned by the Town are already installed on the Public Heath building and the Putterham Library. 

Solar-Ready Projects

Town Meeting passed a warrant article requiring new municipal buildings to be solar ready. The latest project is the Runkle School, Pierce School, and Brookline High School expansion projects.  

Solar Overlay District

The Town amended its Zoning Bylaw to establish a Solar Overlay District (SOL) in the location of the transfer station as a potential site for a renewable energy facility.
