Public Buildings Division
During the public health emergency the Public Buildings Dept. is still fully operational and we continue to maintain public buildings. For all public buildings emergencies please call 617-730-2420 or put in a work order through our Work Order page.
Mission Statement
Provide the maintenance, custodial and construction management services in a cost effective, customer oriented manner needed to protect the capital investment made by the residents of Brookline in their public facilities and to maintain a safe, comfortable and functional environment for all building occupants.

Brookline Village Library
Brookline Village Library is located at 361 Washington St. The Brookline Village Library is the second Library built in the town. It was built in 1910 and has undergone reservations in 1970 and 2003. The library consists of three floors and offers many different services.

Putterham Library is located at 959 West Roxbury Pk. Built in 1960.

Baker School
The Edith C. Baker School is located at 205 Beverly Rd. Originally built in 1936, the building is a two-story structure measuring 115,000 square feet with renovations completed in 1938 and 1958. The Baker houses grades K-8.

Baldwin School
The Baldwin School is located at 490 Heath St. Originally built in 1906, the building is a two-story structure measuring approximately 15,000 square feet with a renovation completed in 1930.

Driscoll School
The Michael Driscoll School is located at 64 Westbourne Ter. Originally built in 1910, the building is a two-story structure measuring approximately 100,000 with renovations completed in 1928, 1953, and 1980. The Driscoll houses grades K-8.

Heath School
The Heath School is located at 100 Eliot St. Originally built in 1958, the building is a two-story structure measuring approximately 85,000 square feet with renovations completed in 1996 and 2012. The Heath School houses grades K-8.

High School
The Brookline High School is located at 115 Greenough St. Originally built in 1920, the building is a four-story structure measuring approximately 350,000 square feet with renovations completed in 1938, 1950, and 1998. The High School houses grades 9-12.

The Amos A. Lawrence School is located at 27 Francis St. Originally built in 1930, the building is a three-story structure measuring approximately 105,000 with renovations completed in 1975 and 2014. The Lawrence houses grades K-8.

The Pierce Primary School is located at 32 Pierce St. Originally built in 1854, the building is a three-story structure with renovations completed in 1975.

The John D. Runkle School is located at 50 Druce St. Originally built in 1962, the building is a three-story structure measuring approximately 105,222 square feet with renovations completed in 1999 and 2012. The Runkle houses grades K-8.

Lynch Early Childhood Center
The Lynch Center is located at 599 Brookline Ave. Originally built in 1945, the building is a three-story structure measuring approximately 11,000 square feet with a renovation completed in 1977.

Fire Station 4
Fire Station 4 is located at 827 Boylston Street . Their fleet consists of an engine/ladder truck , Ice/water rescue, and an ambulance.

Fire Station 5
Fire Station 5 is located at 49 Babcock St. in Coolidge Corner. Their fleet consists of an engine/ladder truck, and a ladder truck.

Fire Station 6
Fire station 6 is located at 962 Hammond St. This station is also the headquarters for the department training facility. Their fleet consists of an engine truck, and the training division vehicles.

Fire station 7 is located at 665 Washington St. Their fleet consists of an ambulance and an engine truck.

Eliot Recreation Center
The Eliot Recreation Center is located at 133 Eliot St. Originally built in 1918, the building is a two-story structure measuring approximately 7,000 square feet with renovations completed in 1950.

Brookline Senior Center is located at 93 Winchester St. The center opened in 2001 and offers many different programs and services to the public.

Brookline’s public safety building is located at 350 Washington St. This is the Brookline Police Department’s main headquarters. Was built in 1961 and renovated in 2002.
