In November 2020 Town Meeting voted for the Town of Brookline to prepare a Report on the Disparities within the Brookline community.
A working group of the Office of Diversity, Inclusion, and Community Relations, the Commission of DICR, and community members has been tasked with collaborating with other Town Departments and community organizations to prepare a Report on ways to repair the Disparities in Brookline.
This Disparity Report will reflect qualitative and quantitative data that was available within the municipality and community organizations within Brookline. This report intends to identify disparities that exist in Brookline’s programming, resources, and services among traditionally underrepresented groups, and will ultimately include recommendations on fiscal allocations to the Town Budget, as well as concrete actions that can be taken by the Town to address and remedy those Disparities.

From October 2021 through December 30th, the Disparity Working Group collected input from the community at large through a survey to ensure that our Working Group aligned and captured the needs and perceptions of the community in our Final Report and Recommendations. The survey was available in English, Russian, Spanish, Traditional Chinese, and Simplified Chinese. Responses were anonymous. Results of the survey will be included in the Final DisparityReport.
