Backflow Prevention Device Application

If you need a fire line turned on you must fill out the form below and wait for approval. You must also have a backflow device installed. If the line is over 2", a pressure test and the results are required. This information can be emailed to: water@brooklinema.gov.

Drainlayers License (NEW LICENSE)

Apply through the "Open Accela" button above.
A Drainlayers License is needed before any Water, Sewer or Drain work can be done in the Town Of Brookline.

License Fee: $300 (License Period March-April)

Hydrant Flow Test

Apply through the "Open Accela" button above.
Tests are done Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday at 8 p.m. (April-November)

The Contractor performs the test. Water & Sewer Department opens & closes the hydrant

Fee: $250

Hydrant Opening

Apply through the "Open Accela" button above.
If needed for Demolition and Construction purposes, you must bring your own backflow device and connection.

Fee: $50 per day (April-November)

Fire Pump Test

Apply through the "Open Accela" button above.
Tests are done Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday at 8 p.m.

Fee: $250 (April-November)
