Guest Overnight Parking

Due to COVID-19, Town Hall is closed to the public. Please submit your temporary permit pre-approval application and all required documentation either
via email to rguan@brooklinema.gov and payati@brooklinema.gov
or
via fax at 617-264-6450

All temporary permits that require a fee will be picked up by appointment only. Required fee must be paid either by check made out to "Town of Brookline" or exact cash. The time of your appointment to pick up your permit will be communicated to you via email or phone by Richard Guan or Priscilla Ayati.

Permits will not be processed same day, so please plan accordingly and request permits in advance of needing them. If your guest needs to park the same then you must use the guest overnight spaces in the public parking lots.

About the Brookline Guest Overnight Parking Program

As a Brookline resident, you may purchase a guest overnight parking pass that will allow a guest to park in a designated town lot used for overnight guest parking. Parking on-street or in an unauthorized public parking lots is prohibited. A guest overnight parking pass entitles the holder to park in a space between the hours of 8 PM and 8 AM. An overnight guest parking pass does not guarantee the holder that a guest parking space will be available in the lot closest to their residence. If you live outside a 1/4 mile radius of the nearest Guest Overnight Parking Lot, you can apply for a guest overnight permit for your street by completing the Temporary Parking Permit Application (PDF). The cost for either permit is $10 per night.

Parking Spaces for Overnight Guests Locations

The town has designated parking spaces for overnight guest use. Spaces are available in the following lots:

  • Babcock Street lot
  • Beacon Street Median / Washington Square lot at Corey Rd
  • Centre Street East lot
  • Fuller Street lot
  • Kent / Station Street lot
  • Kent / Webster Place lot
  • Webster Street lot (parking lot is temporarily closed)

As a reminder, if the lot has designated guest spaces via green and white signage park only in those parking spaces. If you park in any other spaces, you may be found in violation of the overnight parking ban and be fined.

If the lot does not have designated guest spaces via green and white signage, you may park in any parking space that is not reserved by signage for another use. By moving away from designated spaces as parking lots are repaved we have been able to increase the number of spaces available for guest overnight use.

Purchasing Guest Overnight Parking Passes

Guest overnight passes can be purchased at the multi-space meters located in the overnight parking lots starting at 8 PM. These machines will accept the following payment methods: quarters, Master Card, Visa, and pay by cell Passport or ParkBoston apps. Please note that no change or refund is given.

The parking meters are pay by space so no receipt is needed, although we suggest you print one out for your records.

You must purchase the guest overnight pass after 8 p.m. on the day in which you intend to use it. Guest overnight passes expire at 8 a.m. the following morning.
