Review the terms for eligibility for temporary permit parking.
Temporary parking permits are issued by the DPW Transportation Division and Police Department Traffic Division. In general, if you need a temporary parking permit for only 1-2 days, you should call the Police Department at 617-730-2230. Parking permits needed for more than 2 days, are issued by the DPW Transportation Division. For more information on those permits contact 617-730-2177.
Temporary permits may be applied for in person from 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. on Monday - Thursday and from 8 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. on Fridays at:

You may submit the application and all required documents to the above address by mail. Temporary Permits applied for by mail will be processed within 15 business days of the date when all necessary documents are submitted.
