The Highway Division maintains the physical safety and appearance of all public ways. Maintenance on all Public Works vehicles and equipment, as well as vehicles of 10 other departments, is the responsibility of the Highway Division. The subprogram consists of 5 elements:

  • Cleaning
  • Motor Equipment Maintenance
  • Roadway Maintenance
  • Snow Removal
  • Traffic Control / Street Lighting

Sanitation Division

The Sanitation Division provides for solid waste collection and disposal of all household rubbish. The collection and disposal of this material impacts the health and welfare of the entire community. The effectiveness of this operation depends greatly on the cooperation of residents in complying with the established rules and regulations.

Collection and disposal of leaves and sweeper debris from public ways for disposal are also accomplished by this division.
