The charge of the Davis Path Special District Zoning Study Committee is to review and analyze current conditions, zoning, and parking requirements; design guidelines; shadow studies; and other land use planning tools such as transit-oriented development, that affect the site bounded by Davis Path, Boylston Street, the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority (MBTA) tracks and the eastern boundary of the "Red Cab" parcel.
The Study Committee is to report back, at or before the November 2011 Town Meeting, with recommendations for zoning amendments to create a Special District under Section 5.06 of the Zoning Bylaw (PDF) that would permit appropriate development while mitigating impacts on adjacent neighborhoods and historic districts.
