Two Affordable Condos for Sale in Brookline (by Lottery)

The Brookline Planning and Community Development Department is facilitating the resale of two affordable housing condos sold by the owners.

Homebuyers will be selected through a lottery on July 20, 2023.

  • Condo # 1: 1162 Boylston Street, Chestnut Hill – 3-bedroom unit $291,000

  • Condo # 2: 150 St. Paul Street, Brookline – 2-bedroom unit $275,000

Participants in these lotteries must comply with income, assets and household size requirements.  Application and lender’s qualification letter are needed in order to apply.

Affordable 2-BR unit for Rent in Marion Street

The application deadline for the lottery of the 3-br unit has been extended through March 10, 2023.  More information about the unit for sale is as follows.

The Town of Brookline is facilitating the resale of an affordable three-bedroom unit located in Chestnut Hill.  The unit’s sale price is $265,000 and will be offered to a “first time home buyer” earning up to 80 percent of area median income who meet the following income and asset qualifications:

  • For a family of 3 members, annual household income should be less than $100,7000
  • For a family of 4 members, annual household income should be less than $111,850
  • For a family of 5 members, annual household income should be less than $120,800
  • For a family of 6 members, annual income should be less than $129,750

Maximum liquid assets of $75,000.

Occupancy requirements: Household size eligibility requires at least three people sharing the unit.

Resale restrictions will apply in order to maintain affordability for subsequent buyers.
