As reported to the Select Board in accordance with Massachusetts General Laws Chapter, 41, section 11, the Board of Library Trustees has announced the resignation of Trustee Jennifer Rees effective immediately. The law mandates that the Library Trustees and the Select Board act jointly to fill the vacancy until the next annual town election, which will take place on May 8, 2018. For the purpose of considering candidates to fill the vacancy, the Trustees and the Board are publicly soliciting candidates. Interested persons should submit a letter and their resume’ to the Board of Library Trustees by e-mail [email protected] or by regular mail at 361 Washington Street, Brookline, Massachusetts 02445 no later than February 2, 2018 Interested candidates must be registered voters of the town, and must state whether, if appointed, they would run for the remaining one-year of Ms. Rees’ term at the Annual Town Election on May 8, 2018. It is expected that the joint boards will interview candidates and fill the vacancy at a meeting to be held on Tuesday, February 13, 2018.
