On Thursday, February 15th, Brookline’s Economic Development and Housing Advisory Boards (EDAB and HAB) will co-host a thought-provoking presentation and panel discussion that will focus upon opportunities for mixed-use and mixed-income housing development in the Town’s commercial corridors.
Guest speaker Barry Bluestone, Professor of Public Policy and Urban Affairs at Northeastern University, will offer a compelling perspective on Greater Boston’s explosive real estate and jobs economy and its challenging impact upon housing affordability. A widely recognized housing economist, Dr. Bluestone is the lead author of the recently released Greater Boston Housing Report Card for 2017.
Following Dr. Bluestone’s remarks, EDAB and HAB panelists will explore how Brookline can encourage appropriate mixed-used development with more affordable housing, while also expanding the Town’s commercial tax base.
This public event will be held at Town Hall, Select Board Hearing Room 6th floor, beginning at 7:00 pm.
