Nov. 3rd, 5-7:45 pm - Public Art Community Engagement Event

Help bring more public art to Brookline! The Economic Development Division, in partnership with the Brookline Arts Center (BAC), is hosting a community engagement event on Thursday, November 3, 2022 from 5:00-7:45pm at the Beacon Street Art Gallery (1351 Beacon Street) in Coolidge Corner to kick-off Brookline Art Makes Community (BAMC), an ARPA-funded commercial areas public art & placemaking initiative. Members of the Brookline community are encouraged to attend and learn about this new public art initiative, and contribute input on preferred types of public art (e.g. murals, sculptures, lighting installations), as well as potential locations for public art installations. Questions? Contact Aaron Norris, Economic Development Planner at [email protected]. We hope to see you there!

In Case You Missed It

Thanks to Virginia Bullock

After 20 years as a housing planner for the Town of Brookline, Virginia Bullock (pictured below at our celebration last week) begins a new work chapter this week as Manager of State Housing Programs at the Massachusetts Department of Housing & Community Development. We will greatly miss her deep affordable housing knowledge and thank her for so many years of dedication – in her tenure, the Town of Brookline permitted over 600 deed-restricted affordable units.
