The Brookline Fire Department and the Town of Brookline are asking residents and business owners to "Help Us Help You". Please take time to locate, clear off and shovel out your nearest hydrant(s). There have been recent fires in Brookline where the responding Fire Department personnel had to shovel out hydrants on arrival. Every second counts in an emergency - please take time today to "Help Us Help You"!
You can access the Fire Hydrant Location List in PDF form here: http://ow.ly/JhkIM
Here's how to keep hydrants clear:
1. Remove any snow and ice
2. Clear a wide enough perimeter around the hydrant for firefighters to work (about 3 feet)
3. Clear a path from the hydrant to the street
