The Brookline Fire Department and the Town of Brookline are asking residents and business owners to "Help Us Help You". Please take time to locate, clear off and shovel out your nearest hydrant(s). There have been recent fires in Brookline where the responding Fire Department personnel had to shovel out hydrants on arrival. Every second counts in an emergency - please take time today to "Help Us Help You".
You can access the Fire Hydrant Location List in PDF form here.

Here's how to keep hydrants clear:
1. Remove any snow and ice.
2. Clear a wide enough perimeter around the hydrant for firefighters to work (about 3 feet).
3. Clear a path from the hydrant to the street.
With the warmer temperatures and rain, snow will be melting which means blocked catch basins can cause problems. You can help by locating and clearing off the catch basins near you. A new map of Hydrants and Catch Basins is now available; the map is not printable but residents and business owners can enlarge it and find their street.
Thank you for help as we continue to tackle the many challenges faced by this historic winter weather!
