Hidden Brookline invites you to hear the true story of a couple’s daring escape from slavery: Ellen Craft disguised herself as a white man, while her husband William posed as “his” enslaved man.
Ilyon Woo, author of Master, Slave, Husband, Wife will speak at the Brookline Booksmith, Tues, June 20th at 7 PM. Brookline is part of their story, as Underground RR Underground Railroad conductors hid Ellen here.
The event it free, but registration is required! For more information on the event details and accessibility OR to register, please visit: https://www.brooklinebooksmith.com/event/ilyon-woo-master-slave-husband-wife
Co-sponsoring the event are the Brookline Historical Society and the Martin Luther King, Jr. Celebration Committee
