Hidden Brookline invites you to hear the true story of a couple’s daring escape from slavery: Ellen Craft disguised herself as a white man, while her husband William posed as “his” enslaved man.   

Ilyon Woo, author of Master, Slave, Husband, Wife will speak at the Brookline Booksmith, Tues, June 20th at 7 PM. Brookline is part of their story, as Underground RR Underground Railroad conductors hid Ellen here.
