[ARCHIVED] MBTA Communities Act Discussion & SBDC Meeting

MBTACA_Flyer_Final

Dear Brookline Business Community,

As you may know, the Planning Department has been working on a compliance plan for the
MBTA Communities Act for several months and the plan involves a comprehensive rezoning proposal for Harvard Street. The rezoning proposal is being crafted in a way that complies with the essence of the Act, namely increasing housing supply, but also includes incentives for ground-floor small businesses, expands the spectrum of allowed commercial uses, and simplifies the permitting process. More information on the proposal can be found here:

While the Department’s planners have had discussions with a few individual merchants along Harvard Street, we are very interested in getting more widespread feedback. To this end, Maria Morelli (Senior Planner) will provide a merchant-oriented presentation on the proposed zoning changes at the
Small Business Development Committee (SBDC) Meeting on Tuesday, July 18, 2023 at 9:00am.

We are asking that you please spread the word to the members of your business organizations (and beyond, if possible). Attached you will find a flyer that summarizes this effort.

Thank you!
