For 35 years, the Friends of Halls Pond have run a Community Cleanup, the longest continuously-running cleanup project in Brookline. Spring has sprung, and we need volunteers like you to shake off the winter and join us at Halls Pond Community Cleanup 2015! You will work hand-in-hand with the Friends of Halls Pond and the Brookline Conservation Commission to help preserve and protect this urban oasis for you and others to appreciate and enjoy. We need volunteers like you to come lend a hand and a few hours to one of Brookline’s only nature sanctuaries to roll back the damage from a wild winter and help prepare the area for a summer of shady walks, wildlife exploration and peaceful reflection in nature. Come for the opportunity to help out, stay for the live music and refreshments!
The project will consist of light weeding, planting, removing dead plants and debris, and re-establishing trails and walking paths. This is an OPEN PROJECT, meaning any and all are welcome, whether it’s you alone, your close family and friends, or a small, mixed group looking to get your hands dirty and give back to your local community. Stay as long or as briefly as you’d like; every little bit helps!
