[ARCHIVED] MWRA Work May Cause Discolored Water in Brookline

WaterDeptLogo2.JPG

At 9:00pm on Thursday, September 17th, Massachusetts Water Resources Authority (MWRA), in conjunction with the Brookline Water and Sewer Division, will activate a new, 30-inch water main located along Fisher Avenue in Brookline. This process may result in temporarily discolored water in the Town of Brookline.

If discolored water does occur, it will result from a small amount of iron in local pipes. While safe for drinking, cooking and other uses, please note that iron WILL stain light colored items in your laundry, especially when bleach is used. Residents near this location should check water clarity before washing any white or light colored laundry during this period of work.

If you have any question, please call MWRA at 617-305-5950.
