[ARCHIVED] "Emerging Diseases" Talk to be Held May 5th

The Zika virus and other mosquito-borne illnesses will be the topics of Dr. Al DeMaria’s annual “Emerging Diseases” talk on Thursday, May 5, 2016 from 6pm-8pm at Brookline Town Hall, Selectmen's Hearing Room, 6th Floor, Brookline Town Hall, 333 Washington Street, Brookline MA.

Dr. DeMaria, the MA Department of Public Health Medical Director and State Epidemiologist, will present the latest information from the CDC about the Zika virus, including the current spread of the virus, health complications associated with the Zika virus, and recommendations for pregnant women and others who may be travelling to areas with high rates of the virus.

Dr. DeMaria’s talk also will cover additional mosquito-borne illnesses and other emerging diseases. The talk is free and open to the public. For further information: Brookline Department of Public Health, 617-730-2300; [email protected]
