In observance of the Thanksgiving Holiday, all Town and School Offices, Public Schools, and Public Libraries will be closed on Thursday, November 24, 2016. Public Schools of Brookline will have early dismissal on Wednesday, November 23rd and will re-open on Monday, November 28th. All Public Library of Brookline locations will close at 5pm on Wednesday, November 23rd. The Public Safety Traffic Office and the Fire Prevention Window will also be closed on Thanksgiving Day.

There will be no trash pickup on Thanksgiving Day; pickup will be on a holiday schedule for the remainder of the week (place refuse out one day later than usual). Please plan accordingly and thank you in advance for your cooperation.


Per the Brookline Police Department, the following modified parking restrictions will be in place: 

  • The all-night parking ban will be lifted on Wednesday, November 23rd and Thursday, November 24th.  Parking regulations will resume and be in effect starting Friday, November 25th at 6:00am.
  • Parking meters will be free on Thursday, November 24th and Saturday, November 26th (in support of Small Business Saturday).

In addition, the Brookline Police Department has announced that the Traffic Office will be closed on Thursday, November 23rd and Saturday, November 26th (there will be no hearings on Wednesday or Saturday).
