[ARCHIVED] Signs of Reopening

Reopening Plan Announced: Just now the Governor announced that services like hair salons and curbside pick-up for retail can begin opening as of May 25. The announcement also permits the immediate reopening of houses of worship, manufacturing, and construction subject to new health and safety requirements. Review the state’s mandatory safety guidelines, which will continue to be built out as more types of businesses are allowed to continue to open.

Storefront Sign Program: In partnership with the Brookline business community, the Town of Brookline has created a coordinated storefront signage program to fill Brookline’s commercial areas with bright, positive messaging and clearly communicate how Brookline businesses are open for business during COVID-19. Storefront signs, which are 18x24 inches and free to Brookline businesses, are now available. Request a sign for your storefront here.

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) & Cleaning Supplies: The state announced today a program especially for small businesses to acquire PPE and related cleaning supplies. This program and resources identified from the Chamber of Commerce, our Health Department, and other businesses are listed on our Planning for Reopening page.

Priority will be given especially to entrepreneurs of color, women- and veteran-owned businesses and other enterprises in historically under-served places who don’t have access to flexible, affordable capital.
