Governor Baker announced today a second round of state funding for small businesses; the application portal will be open Dec. 31st to Jan. 15th.

We will also be reviewing this Massachusetts Growth Capital Corporation (MGCC) program at our next regularly scheduled Virtual Town Hall meeting on January 7th at 9 am via Zoom: https://brooklinema.zoomgov.com/j/1612853212

MGCC will release more details on Monday, Dec. 28th at https://www.empoweringsmallbusiness.org/

Eligible businesses will include for-profit restaurants, bars, caterers, indoor recreation and entertainment venues, gyms and fitness centers, event support professionals like photographers, nail salons, barbershops and retailers.

Qualifying businesses will be eligible for grants of up to $75,000, but not more than three months’ operating expenses to help pay for salaries, utilities, rent, debt or other expenses.

Those of you that already applied in the first round do not to apply again.

Award notices from the first round are rolling out now, and a summary of the types of businesses that were awarded funding is available in Monday’s press release.
