The Gateway East Project is a multi-modal transportation infrastructure project designed to improve pedestrian, cyclists, and public transit access and improve the livability of this section of Brookline Village while recognizing that 40,000 motor vehicles travel through this section of Brookline Village daily. It is funded through the federal Transportation Improvement Project (TIP) funds allocated by the Boston Region Metropolitan Planning Orginzation and managed by the Massachusetts Department of Transportation District 6 in conjunction with staff from the Engineering Division and Planning Department.

At the public information meeting, MassDOT and MDR Construction provided a preliminary schedule and sequence of work for the Gateway East roadway and traffic signal project, which can be seen here.  Note:  This schedule is subject to modification or change.
